March 2017Pan American Club Crew Championship (PACCC) in Puerto Rico. WAM entered two 10-person teams in small boats — the Women’s Senior C (60-plus) team brought home 2 silver medals and the Mixed Senior B (50-plus) team, a gold and a bronze medal.

May 2017 – Women’s False Creek Regatta in Vancouver, B.C.

June 2017 – Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver, B.C.

August 2017 – Victoria Dragon Boat Festival in Victoria, B.C.

September 2017 – Club Crew National Championship (CCNC) in New Jersey

There are special training and assessment requirements to join the crews for PACCC, CCNC and PDBA, with the Head Coach selecting the racing crews for these events. However, any paddlers aged 40-plus are welcome to join the WAM training sessions and possibly be selected to join one of the local racing teams for events in May, June or August, without meeting the higher level of commitment, training and assessment required for PACCC, CCNC and PDBA.

To learn more about training requirements for any of these events, contact Lesley Blyth, the Head Coach.
