Membership
In order to attend regular training sessions and reserve equipment, you must be a registered member of SAKE, either as a visitor, or as a paid member.
Visitors to dragon boat and outrigger can attend up to three sessions before deciding if they would like to become members. They need only register as visitors and agree to the terms of the insurance liability waiver. Paid membership is required for SUP and Kayak.
Members have access to all club paddling activities (dragon boat, SUP, outrigger canoe). Membership dues are $140 per year, with the following exceptions:.
- Seniors over 60 and TSNW members pay $100 per year
- Members of another regional dragon boat club who would like to join SAKE as their secondary club pay $75 per year, for access to dragon boat activities only.
- New members registering after October 1 can pay $70 for membership through the end of the membership year.
Notes about membership dues:
- Dues are neither refundable nor transferable.
- Dues cover the membership year from April 1 through March 31.
- The minimum age for a member is 13 years old, and this requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- A liability waiver and the SAKE Code of Conduct must be signed every year. Members under the age of 18 need a parent or legal guardian's consent.
- If you need financial assistance for membership dues, please complete a financial aid request. We may be able to offer an installment plan or a partial subsidy.
